Resident Engineer (Mechanical)

Main Responsibilities of the Job:
- Reviewing MEP drawings thoroughly (with major focus on mechanical and plumbing part) identifying and addressing any inconsistencies or discrepancies & coordinate with consultant to resolve those discrepancies in advance.
- Must have in-depth knowledge on but not limited to overall HVAC system, Elevators, STP, ETP WTP, Generators, plumbing system, gas line system, fountain system, firefighting system including installation of those.
- Proficient in reviewing shop drawings.
- Provide site supervision support, conduct inspections in compliance with architectural, electrical, and structural requirements.
- Issue field instructions, handle queries.
- Upholding the highest standards of installation quality for all mechanical items through regular on-site inspection, monitoring, and effective communication with vendors and consultants.
- Conduct site inspection upon contractor’s RFI issuance (Request for inspection)
- Review and approve mechanical drawings, equipment submittals, and as-built documentation provided by the contractor.
- Checking & Finalizing contractor’s submitted bills.
- Analyze the BoQ for any mismatch/inadequacy in accordance with the design & drawings submitted by the Consultant and prepare schedule for respective packages for the Tender document.
- Conduct thorough inspections in conjunction with suppliers’ post-delivery of materials and equipment to verify that mechanical items/components of all kinds meet the specifications outlined in the Work Order or Purchase Order.
- Ensuring the timely completion, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of mechanical works throughout the execution process, prioritizing adherence to industry standards and protocols.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, 3D and REVIT.
- Carry out any other jobs, as assigned by the Project-in-charge.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum B Sc. Engineering from a public university or a reputed private university in Mechanical Engineering (ME). Upgradation from diploma engineering to B Sc. Engineering will not be acceptable.
- Plumbing course qualified candidates will be given preference.
- Minimum ground experience required is 10 years. Experience in plumbing work supervision will be given preference.
- Candidates with knowledge on scientific lab equipment (including installation) will be given preference.
- Candidates with knowledge on REVIT software application will be given preference.
- Person (male/female) from the Chattogram district or around will be given preference.
