The Asian University for Women (AUW) seeks applications for a full-time Research Assistant

position. Located in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh, AUW is a US-style liberal arts and

sciences university, with representation of a wide range of international faculty and home to over

900 students from 19 Asian countries. The university is dedicated to teaching excellence in a

liberal arts setting, with a strong commitment to research and scholarly engagement. Further

Responsibilities:

  • Performing primary and secondary research (qualitative and quantitative) on project activities.
  • Visiting the community and collecting data based on the project’s requirements.
  • Planning and performing experiments and surveys and leading the data collection team at the field level.
  • You will be working closely with the Coordinator of 3CEH and other persons as a team.
  • Organize community-based events like awareness-building campaigns, workshops, rapport-building with the community etc.
  • Collecting, recording, and analyzing data.
  • Interpreting data analysis results and drawing inferences and conclusions.
  • Using research results to write reports, papers, and reviews and presenting findings in journals and conferences.
  • Collaborating with research teams, industry stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Collaborating with Finance, procurement and other departments of AUW.
  • Executing all assigned and relevant tasks of 3CEH

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a B.Sc. or B.A. degree from a regionally accredited academic institution. Candidates who will be graduating soon are also eligible to apply.
  • Experience and interest in community or field-based works
  • Have conducted/has been conducting an independent thesis targeting a community/stakeholders
  • Have studied courses related to Health and the Environment
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills to promote community
  • A relevant knowledge and experience in research coordination and administration is also necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; internet research browsers.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in research and research methodology.
  • Excellent time and office management skills.
  • Excellent team player skills.
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and ability to take initiative.
