The Asian University for Women (AUW) is hiring a full-time Community Development Officer.

AUW is located in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and is a US-style liberal arts and

sciences university with a diverse faculty and over 900 students from 19 Asian countries. The

university is committed to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting and has a strong focus on

Responsibilities:

  • Performing primary and secondary research (qualitative and quantitative) on project activities.
  • Identifying sources of funding, preparing research proposals, and submitting funding applications.
  • You will be working closely with the Coordinator of 3CEH and other persons as a team.
  • Planning and performing experiments and surveys and leading the data collection team at the field level.
  • Collecting, recording, and analyzing data.
  • Interpreting data analysis results and drawing inferences and conclusions.
  • Keeping up-to-date with research/policy developments.
  • Using research results to write reports, papers, and reviews and presenting findings in journals and conferences.
  • Collaborating with research teams, industry stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Collaborating with Finance, procurement and other departments of AUW.
  • Executing all assigned and relevant tasks of 3CEH

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a B.Sc. or B.A. degree from a regionally accredited academic institution. Candidates who will be graduating soon are also eligible to apply.
  • Capacity and experience in writing any format of research papers (e.g. Thesis, Journal articles, book chapters, policy papers etc.)
  • They must possess excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills to promote community development.
  • A relevant knowledge and experience in field-based research is also necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Data Analysis tools (e.g., SPSS), and internet research browsers.

Essential Qualities & Skills:

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Having an IELTS score of 7.0 or
  • more will be an advantage.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in research and research methodology.
  • Excellent time and office management skills.
  • Excellent team player skills.
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and ability to take initiative.

Salary: Attractive.
