Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong seeks to appoint several full-time Program Facilitators

under the umbrella of AUW Portfolio Learning Program. The Portfolio Learning Program is intended to

provide AUW pre-undergraduate, undergraduate and master’s students with a series of externally certified,

skill-oriented courses in topics ranging from finance to technology to writing.

These certifications are expected to help AUW students improve their competencies in these vital areas and open opportunities for part-time employment during school years as well as full-time employment following graduation. The initial certification courses will be offered through Google and CISCO. Additional certification courses will be added over time. Each student at AUW would be expected to take at least one Portfolio Learning Course each term beyond what is required under their respective degree programs.

Located in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh, AUW is a liberal arts institution, including an

international faculty and home to over 1500 Bangladeshi and international students. The University is

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

  • The Portfolio Learning Program courses are all delivered online by the providers. Such as Google and Cisco. However, to ensure 100 percent participation and collective learning all registered students will be grouped in sections of 25, meeting several times a week. Each Program Facilitator will be assigned two or more groups.
  • The Program Facilitator must ensure ahead of class hours that the IT systems are functioning, all students are present and following the courses, in case of the absence of any students the Program Facilitators must immediately contact the student by phone and encourage immediate attendance. In case of absences of more than twice, the Program Facilitators must a arrange a meeting with the absentee student and the Program Coordinator and resolve any pending issues that have prevented the student from attending the course.
  • Program Facilitators will be expected to have completed each of the courses they would coordinate and be prepared to answer questions from students on specific topics or problems. Where necessary, the student questions would be referred to the Program Coordinator.
  • All student questions would be reviewed in the weekly workshops.
  • Program Facilitators would be the champions of the program and must inspire the students to enroll in the programs and excel in them. They should be readily available to help the students during office hours and in the workshops.
  • In addition, the Program Facilitators will be expected to help each student develop a compelling CV; help her create a LinkedIn Page; and assist her in obtaining a free-lance job utilizing her recently acquired skills.
  • Dedicate at least 20% of the time during the semester to engage in University service/administration

related to the delivery of the academic programs and academic governance.

  • Participation in the Faculty Orientation program is mandatory.
  • Participate in peer classroom observations as scheduled by your reporting person.
  • Serve as academic advisor and mentor to students.
  • Help students finding online jobs/outsourcing using their newly acquired skills.
  • Report to the Director/Coordinator regularly for updates and discussions on improving the program.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the reporting person/authority.

Required Qualifications:

• Highly motivated graduates with strong interest in the areas of programming, AI and related areas of

interest.

  • Having certification in google certification program will be highly valued.
  • Any working experience related to programming will be considered as added qualification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
