Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Reports to: TF, MA in Education and Data Analyst, AUW Monitoring and Evaluation Study
Contract Type: Full Time
Location: Chittagong (BD)

 

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in Monitoring and Evaluating the services, initiatives and programs of Asian University for Women (AUW). They will be responsible for overseeing and executing various aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting to assess the impact of AUW’s programs and initiatives. The officer will work closely with the Data Analyst, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the study’s objectives are met effectively and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Data Collection Planning: Collaborate with the research team to develop data collection strategies, including surveys, interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and observations.
  • Data Collection and Management: Coordinate and conduct surveys, interviews, and other data collection activities as outlined in the study protocol. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of collected data. Manage data entry and storage systems effectively.
  • Data Analysis: Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of collected data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools. Generate insights and recommendations based on analysis findings. Collaborate with the Data Analyst to synthesize data and interpret results.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports on data collection activities, analysis, and key findings. Contribute to the development of interim and final reports for stakeholders, including AUW management, donors, and external partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with AUW faculty, staff, alumni, and students to facilitate data collection efforts. Coordinate with external partners, such as alumni associations, to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to ethical guidelines and research protocols in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant institutional policies and regulations.
  • Timeline Management: Manage project timelines and deliverable. Monitor progress against milestones and proactively address any delays or challenges.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, public health, statistics).
  • Prior experience in research, impact evaluation or data analysis, preferably in the education sector.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and data visualization tools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ethical principles and standards in research and evaluation.
  • Fluency in English, Bangla both written and verbal.
