The Learning Center is a place for students to seek extra help on their own or via direction from their instructor, advisor, or Director of Learning & Wellness and Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Education. The Center employees tutors who are on hand to assist and support students academically. The Learning Center also holds workshops for students on topics of particular relevance to their studies.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

  • The Learning Center is a place for students to seek extra help on their own or via direction from their instructor, advisor, or Director of Learning & Wellness. The Center employees tutors who are on hand to assist and support students academically. The Learning Center also holds workshops for students on topics of particular relevance to their studies.
  • The Director of the Learning Center will work closely with the Pre-UG Program Director and the Student Success & Wellbeing Director. The Director of the Learning Center focuses on individualized help for students who are weak in a specific skill area. The Director of the Learning Center is expected to give workshops on topics of importance to all Pre-UG Students e.g., Study Skills, referencing in Academic Writing, Time Management, as well as implement Individual Education Plans for students created by the Director of Student Success & Wellbeing.
  • The Director of the Learning Center manages the tutorial services of the Learning Center including overseeing tutors and student tutors.
  • The Study Skills and Computer Literacy courses for newly admitted students are also managed by the Learning Center.
  • The position requires some teaching every term.

Educational requirement:

The ideal candidate should have a background in university preparatory education with a Master’s Degree in relevant subject.
