The Asian University for Women (AUW) is hiring a full-time Community Development Officer. AUW is located in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and is a US-style liberal arts and sciences university with a diverse faculty and over 900 students from 19 Asian countries. Major Responsibilities:

  • Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Developing and implementing strategies.
  • You will be working closely with the Coordinator of 3CEH.
  • Attending professional and scientific conferences to stay up-to-date on new grant opportunities and maintain professional communication.
  • Working independently under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Building links with other groups and agencies.
  • Planning, attending, and coordinating training sessions, workshops, meetings, and events.
  • Helping to raise public awareness on issues relevant to the community.
  • Preparing meeting minutes, reports and policy papers.
  • Data collection and leading community-based activities at the field level.
  • Actively participating in the Center’s regular tasks.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a BSc or BA degree from a regionally accredited academic institution.
  • Candidate must have a clear understanding of issues related to Health and Environment.
  • They should also have relevant knowledge and experience in administration, experience with research grants including application requirements, financial processes and compliance with regulations, and technical and financial deliverables.
  • Good knowledge of analytical use, and proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, and Excel.
  • Other essential qualities and skills include excellent time and office management skills, excellent team player skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent skills in critical thinking, and the ability to take initiative.
  • Experience working at the field level regarding rapport building, data collection, community-based activities and awareness building campaign
  • Have flexibility to travel for field activities whenever needed (in and outside the country).

Salary: Attractive.
