Asian University for Women seeks applications for open-rank positions in Economics (Assistant to Full Professor) to begin August 2024. While we have particular needs in the areas of Finance and Behavioral Economics, our search is open with respect to specialization. We seek an economist eager to teach throughout the undergraduate economics curriculum in a diverse international context. The ordinary teaching requirement is 24 credit hours per academic year.

Other Requirements:

  • degree in Economics or a closely allied discipline
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and high-quality research
  • Ability and willingness to teach students whose native language is not English
  • Capacity to advise students and take on administrative responsibilities
  • Commitment to liberal arts education

Responsibilities:

  • Teach required courses in the major degree program
  • Plan, develop and teach elective courses in the candidate’s area of expertise
  • Serve as academic advisor and mentor to students
  • Supervise students in developing and implementing senior thesis projects, including guiding them in data analysis, thesis writing, and presentation
  • Attract funding and engage in research
  • Provide leadership and serve on academic committees

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in working in Asia
  • Experience or interest in working at a women’s university
