Required qualifications: | Candidates must possess a Masters or PhD degree from a recognized university and have published in prestigious journals and subject-matter journals/conferences. Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor position should demonstrate a strong aptitude for conducting high-impact research. Candidates for Associate and Full Professor positions should have an outstanding record of research accomplishments and a strong dedication to service, mentoring, graduate teaching, attracting external funding, and making an impact in multidisciplinary research. |
Expected to teach: | Faculty in the General Education program are expected to be generalists who are able to teach across several disciplines. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to teach courses in some combination of three or more of: Writing and Communication, Critical Thinking, Social Analysis, Ethical Reasoning, Literature, History, and Comparative Religion. |

About the Position
The Asian University for Women (AUW) invites applications for faculty positions in General Education commencing in the Fall 2025 / Spring 2026. The General Education Program at AUW is a liberal arts education which provides students with breadth of knowledge across disciplines and inculcates diverse skills, ideas, perspectives, and modes of thinking. Inspired by AUW’s mission to create an environment where academic studies establish a broad base of inquiry, the General Education Program emphasises critical thinking and a spirit of curiosity, inquiry, and open-mindedness. The program gives students a period to reflect and explore their options, discover new subjects, interests, and abilities, and serves as a foundation for further fields of study, for employment, and for lifelong learning. Students take a number of General Education courses in their first year of UG studies, before going on to their major.
Responsibilities
- Develop programs and the course curriculum
- Deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and quizzes, and prepare assignments on the assigned courses.
- Teach 28 credits per academic year.
- Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students.
- Supervise students in developing and implementing senior thesis projects including guiding them in data analysis, thesis writing, and presentation of findings
- Attract research funding and engage in research
- Provide leadership and service on academic committees and academic initiatives
- Maintain office hours for students
