Founded in 2008, Asian University for Women currently has approximately 1600 students from 18 countries split among a pre-university program, a four year liberal arts university program, and several masters’ programs. The mission of the school is to provide an education for young women who are the first in their family to get a university education, especially those from war-torn and disrupted regions, who might otherwise not have access to higher education.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:
As part of the Wellness Team, this staff member will help to build and deliver comprehensive mental health treatment for young women, many of whom have already encountered unusually challenging life events and experiences.
- Conduct screenings and diagnostic outpatient evaluations of AUW students, providing appropriate feedback and treatment recommendations in a timely manner.
- Conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions with AUW students.
- Perform crisis interventions and screenings as needed.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and formal clinical reports.
- Collaborate confidentially with other AUW medical providers and relevant administrators on behalf of students.
- Work as part of a collaborative team to deliver the highest quality care and service to students.
- Make referrals when appropriate.
- Discuss preventative and preparative measures for potential illnesses, conditions, and risk situations within the community.
- Contribute to institutional development and health education initiatives, such as workshops and seminars, in partnership with the healthcare team and AUW administration.
- Respond to emergencies requiring psychological intervention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- A doctoral degree, or an MS and M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychotherapy.
- Ability to think proactively, act creatively, and take appropriate initiative.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Rohingya or Persian is an advantage.
