We are pleased to announce that Professor Sangita Rayamajhi, Interim Vice Chancellor at the Asian University for Women (AUW) has kindly consented to extend her tenure as Interim Vice Chancellor until June 30, 2027 to allow the Board of Trustees additional time to complete the search process for a permanent Vice Chancellor.
Professor Rayamajhi will continue to provide leadership and guidance to the University during this important period of transition, ensuring continuity in AUW’s academic and institutional activities.
The search for AUW’s next Vice Chancellor is progressing with the support of international executive search firm WittKieffer and a trustee-appointed Search Committee, co-chaired by Professor Paula Johnson, President of Wellesley College, and Professor John Sexton, President Emeritus of New York University.
As part of the next phase of the search, members of the Search Committee and key AUW stakeholders will participate in focus group discussions in the coming months, followed by visits to AUW by shortlisted candidates in January 2027. The Board anticipates completing the search and appointing a new Vice Chancellor by June 2027.
The Board of Trustees expresses its sincere appreciation to Professor Rayamajhi for her continued leadership and commitment to AUW.
