Asian University for Women (AUW) is an independent international residential university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It currently enrolls nearly 2000 students from about 20 countries across Asia and the Middle East. It offers extensive pre-undergraduate programs (for those who need additional academic preparation prior to matriculating into the undergraduate program); an undergraduate program in the liberal arts and sciences; and a series of professional master’s programs, the most prominent of which is an MA in Education which is operated in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University. Main Responsibilities of the Job:

STRATEGY

  • Lead and make the AUW Lab School fully functional in terms of student admissions, Teaching and Learning Curriculum development, Teachers’ recruitment, Marketing and Financial Strategy and above all generating dynamic, innovative community.
  • Create and maintain an approach to pedagogy that results in high outcomes and progress through being an exemplary Create a dynamic, responsive, local curriculum that enables students to become effective, enthusiastic, independent learners who will be committed to lifelong learning.
  • Ensure student engagement in having life skills to become community leaders

LEADING TEACHING AND LEARNING

  • Demonstrate the principles and practice of effective learning and teaching as the Principal of the school with utmost enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Establish creative and effective approaches to learning and teaching, which respond to the needs of the learning community.
  • Focus on the children getting option for full time summer school activities, e. extra curricular activities such as Physical Education, Musical Education, etc. .
  • Ensure a continuous and consistent school-wide focus on pupils’ achievement, using data and benchmarks to monitor progress.
  • Monitor, evaluate and review classroom practices and promote improvement strategies through monitoring and observation in conjunction with the board of
  • Keep the teaching and learning related policies relevant in consultation with the Board of Trustees.
  • Establish a comprehensive plan for enhanced interaction between the AUW University faculty effectively and leverage those resources for the school.

DEVELOP SELF AND TEAM WORK

  • Develop and maintain effective strategies and procedures for performance management review for all teaching staff and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain a performance centric culture for all teaching staff and support staff and ensure continuous professional development through necessary corrective actions.
