Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday night for Shooting for the Stars, our 14th annual fundraising event in Japan.
The energy in the room was unmistakable – people coming together with a shared belief in the power of education and the potential of women.
We were honored to hear from Naoko Yamazaki, the second Japanese woman in space and a champion for the next generation of STEM leaders. Her message resonated deeply:
“Don’t wait for confidence to come. Take the leap – and confidence will grow from experience.”
We also heard from PriyankaShrestha, whose story reminded us just how far one scholarship can go. That one call from AUW changed her path, leading her to an incredibly enriching university experience as well as an awakening to dedicate her career to maternal health in underserved communities.
Educating women creates ripples that reach far beyond the classroom.
The night generated significant funds in support of scholarships and we will proudly share the results with you soon. Thank you for your generosity.
