Oxford’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tracey to Deliver the AUW Commencement Address

We are pleased to announce that Professor Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford and renowned neuroscientist, will deliver the Commencement Address at the 12th Commencement of the Asian University for Women.

About Professor Irene Tracey

Professor Irene Tracey CBE, FRS, FMedSci., is Vice-Chancellor at the University of Oxford and Professor of Anaesthetic Neuroscience in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, a department she led for several years whilst holding a Nuffield Chair. Professor Tracey did her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Oxford, Merton College. She was a founding member of the world-leading Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging, formerly FMRIB, and was its Director for ten years. Professor Tracey has served on many national and international committees, such as the Council of the Medical Research Council and Lundbeck Brain Prize Committee. Until recently, she was President of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies.

We are so pleased for Professor Tracey to share her insights and inspiration with our graduates as they take the next step in their journey. AUW will confer a Doctor of Sciences for the Advancement of Humankind, honoris causa, to Professor Tracey on this occasion in a tribute to her lifetime achievements.
