Welcome to the 2024 AUW Annual Report. This year marks significant progress as we continue our mission to empower young women from marginalized communities across Asia.

In this year’s report, we celebrate the resilience, determination, and transformative journeys of our students and alumnae. One of the most inspiring stories comes from our Afghan student community. Despite facing immense challenges, AUW remains the largest global host of Afghan women students, providing them with an education and a chance to lead. Students like Mahdia Kazemi, who leads the AUW Boxing Club, embody the spirit of overcoming barriers and pursuing dreams.

Another milestone in 2024 is the continued success of AUW’s Teaching Fellowship program. With 19 fellows from prestigious institutions like Harvard, Oxford, and Princeton, this program enriches our academic environment and fosters valuable cross-cultural exchange. These fellows play a pivotal role in the growth and development of our students, ensuring they receive world-class education while building lasting connections with global peers.

We are also excited to share the progress of our campus expansion project. The first phase of our new campus, designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, is set to open in 2026, offering state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities. This development will allow AUW to accommodate a growing number of students while continuing to provide an exceptional educational environment that inspires creativity, collaboration, and leadership.

As we look ahead, AUW is focused on increasing enrollment, enhancing academic programs, and expanding student support services. With the continued support of our partners, we are building a future where women lead with purpose and impact.
