Position: Residence Life Coordinator (RC)

Unit: Office of Dean of Students

Reports to: Dean/ Asst. Dean of Students

Job Location: Chattogram, Chattogram (Chattogram Sadar)

Asian University for Women (AUW), an independent international university with students drawn from 19 countries across Asia and Middle East. It is an educational institution looking for a candidate who holds knowledge in Residence Life Coordinator (RC) who is expected to perform administrative duties related to the day-to-day operations of the dormitories and Residential Life Office.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

Responsibilities of Residence Life Coordinator (RC) staff include, but are not limited to:

  • The work week will include daytime office hours and evenings and weekend doing on call duties.
  • Assist students with conflict mitigation and emotional issues; Submit verbal or written student behavioral and/or health concerns/issues as indicated or requested; Notify the Manager of Residence Life and/or Dean of Students of campus incidents.
  • Assist Residential Assistants (RA) with creating a fun and livable environment by providing excellent customer service skill.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the student housing facility and student units; identify problem areas, and coordinate with concerned departments.
  • Report, track and follow up on maintenance issues with appropriate building managers, maintenance and cleaning staff etc.  Coordinate with Facilities and Housekeeping to ensure cleanliness and operation of all residence hall areas.
  • Assist with the hiring, mentorship, training, supervision and support of the Resident Assistants (RAs).
  • Work as part of the Student Affairs team to provide excellent student facilities, services, and resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities for operational services:

  • To respond to emergencies appropriately, according to the University Safety & Security procedures; ensure student awareness of fire and other safety regulations; Assist with fire alarm evacuations.
  • Coordinate the nightly check-ins.
  • Maintain and update all necessary reports and databases.

Qualification and Skills required:

  • A female graduate in any discipline
  • Conversant with MS Office and has decent typing skills
  • Attended training of firefighting, first aid, medical emergency is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience of dormitory management or management of student affairs is preferred but not mandatory/ Ex-service women are also preferred but not mandatory
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English is mandatory

Additional Requirements:

  • The position requires to reside on campus with students
  • Must be available. to join by 1st week of April
  • Age 25 to 35 years

Salary:    Negotiable

Compensation & other benefits: According to AUW policy.
