Medical Officer

 

Position: Medical Officer
Unit: Health and Wellness Center
Reports to: Director – Health Center
Duty Timing:   Rotational Shift as per Roster
Job Location: Satellite Center in KEPZ and M.M.Ali Road Campus, Chattogram.

Main Responsibilities of the Job:

Responsibilities of Medical Officer staff include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring regular consultation with students and providing primary medical care services
  • Acting as a front-line respondent for any medical emergencies
  • Analyzing reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and proposing treatment options
  • Examining patients, taking medical histories, addressing patients’ concerns, and answering   patients’ questions
  • Counseling patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and other lifestyle changes
  • Maintaining complete, timely and legible medical records
  • Updating patients’ files and information to reflect current findings and treatments
  • Cooperating with the Director of Health and Wellness Center (HWC) for maintaining all the protocols and day to day work of the department
  • Liaising with the labs/pharmaceuticals/other respective external stakeholders to establish or support a diagnosis
  • Assisting in developing and implementing the annual budget for the HWC
  • Interacting with academic departments and university staff members as a consultant in regard to health and medical issues or concerns
  • Explaining medical procedures to patients
  • Referring patients to specialists when necessary, and working collectively with other healthcare staff
  • Accompanying individuals for medical appointments/diagnostics outside when it is necessary
  • Developing care-plans for individuals with ongoing health issues, or who visit the health center frequently
  • Participating in conducting health education/promotion workshops, campaigns, activities
  • Adhering to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, and ongoing quality improvement objectives
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of HWC

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must be a qualified MBBS with valid BMDC registration
  • Preferred female candidate with 1 to 3 years of experience
