The principal planning and development arm of the University is the Asian University for Women Support Foundation (AUWSF), incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit organization based in the United States. The Foundation is responsible for mobilizing organizational, financial and intellectual resources across the world to help establish the University. The Foundation will also be responsible for raising and maintaining the University's endowment. The AUW Support Foundation is guided in its day-to-day operations by a committed Board of Directors.

The International Council of Advisors is a group of eminent citizens and notable personalities who serve as global advocates for broad support of the University’s mission and objectives. The The University also enjoys the support of a number of the most important leaders in government, business, and academia, leaders who are collectively known as the AUW Council of Patrons.

Regional Support Committees have been established or are in the process of being established in a range of countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, and the US. These groups, based in the University's target countries, help recruit students and faculty, cultivate internship and career opportunities for students, mobilize financial support for students, assist with the transition of students back into their countries following graduation, and provide guidance on trends that relate to the University's work. Support committees in Japan, Australia, Europe and the United States and Canada have the primary responsibility for resource development, and also assist with the cultivation of institutional partnerships, as appropriate.

When fully established, the University will be governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will be self-perpetuating and independent.
